There are a million and one reasons why a pro DP is needed with each potential film production. One of the biggest is understanding light and how it plays on the shot. Without the right filters on the lenses these images don’t do the location or the animals justice. It would help if the rank photographer did not forget to check his ISO from the night before. I was so excited to see the rain stop, I did not stop to think about every aspect of the 7D’s many demands. That being said. I love the camera and the lens but I must take the monopod and tripod on every shoot in the future unless a first rate DP comes into view. At this point I would be happy with an assistant which is what I will be seeking from now on with every test. I just don’t have time to shoot these tests, much less edit them.
