Ideally, This would be land that might have studio potential? The cost to gear up for mobile is far to much, as is most high end gear. Better to rent as needed. Land price must be attractive.

When looking at the details and cost considerations for 8 core & 12 core systems the logical solution is to wait for prices to fall.

These prices will come down over time. While they might be ideal for video editing the cost simply makes no economic sense. This has us waiting on post. The feeling is it would be more cost effective to sub the work out. Reducing costs may mean cutting back on tech for another year or more.

The small trick there is finding someone who can do great work for a fair price. We understand the time requirements of post work.

DCC Designs & Upgrades. 8 Core Digital Creative Content Workstations on Site.

In the process of going mobile, we geared everything around, a new trailer mounted, DCC workstation editing model. This meant selling the home studio in order to cover the cost of the new layout.

As the home studio is still subject to sale, we are going ahead with the workstation buys to advance video editing ability for all current Ad work. We need to have the latest software running on the fastest computing power for the most cost effective dollar.

Because space will be limited in the trailer mounted mobile future, it will be important to keep system designs both light weight and easy to transport in a small space. Three slide outs will give us the extra room needed for each workstation however they will not be in use while traveling from location to location. This is when 3 & 4G iphone, ipad, & WIFI will need to take over.

When reaching the shoot location we will be able to get all three workstations up and running as the extra room will be provided by each slide out. As each trailer will be custom built for DCC and Video Editing Demands, we will make sure we have both the power and the finish-out built in, to get the job done, once the slide outs are in place. Everything must be secured & in place during travel mode.

Our plan is to shoot video of each phase of the built out process so that our working partners, sponsors, and clients can see how we are spending out money, time, and effort to be on location and editing in real time as the producer/director might demand.

We are currently looking to buy 8 Core Video Editing Systems with Upgrade potential. Our current focus will be to upgrade each system that comes in with the goal of having all three systems up and running by the end of the year.

Budget just got bumped up. Should keep design happy.

As talent fees climb with all final call potential expenses, the only way to level the field is to provide design for all those new people who have not had time to design their own URL. Would need to bring legal in to the site design budget set up, via contract fee agreement, but if the numbers are going to get out of hand for national and international, this might be one way to help local talent we like. I’ll just pay for it myself.

Current est. cost to get each site up is running around $1700. Start to finish, three weeks, give or take. Would then be able to get some more help in here for design. Add some new blood. I don’t mind covering expenses when they advance new local talent and help the in house work get done on time and on budget. Only on a contract by contract bases. Will sign off on each as it might warrant. J.P.
